Mario Castellar
Mario Castellar started working at Havurah in June of 2008 as the Administrative Coordinator and as of January 2012, he is Havurah’s Synagogue Engagement Manager. His main duties are daily building operations, administrative duties and office management, and being the first point of contact at the office. He makes sure that everything is being taken care of behind the scenes and enjoys working with members in the community including the Building Committee, Membership Committee and office volunteers.
Prior to moving to Portland, Mario worked for a non-profit in New York City that provided access to nutrition programs for working people, immigrants, and low income families. He provided community outreach as well as coordinated trainings with other community based organizations on anti-hunger campaigns. Mario lives in Northwest Portland.
