End of Life

The end of life is a sobering part of our existence here on earth. In spite of how we may feel about it, having limits to our mortatlity is what brings life the most meaning. “Teach us to treasure each day, that we may attain a heart of wisdom,” said the Pslamist (Ps. 90:12).
Havurah Shalom has a cemetery located off the Sylvan Hill, just west of Downtown Portland. We have an active Chevra Kadisha upon request. Havurah works closely with Holmans Funeral Home to coordinate funerals at our cemetery. You can reach Holmans at:

Yahrzeits

If you want us to record the names and yahrzeit dates of your loved ones who have passed away, please fill out and return this form. You may also contact Mario at the Havurah office. We will then provide you with the appropriate Hebrew dates to say yahrzeit.

Annual Cemetery Clean-up Day

Please check our calendar for the next clean-up (usually in May) 10:00am-12noon
This is your opportunity to make our lovely cemetery even more beautiful. The work is not strenuous and is made up of weeding, hedge trimming, and applying fertilizer. We will meet at the cemetery from 10:00 to 12:00, and the more of you who are there, the more work we can get done. For directions or questions either call or email Dave Weil.
