THE OYS AND JOYS OF PARENTING
Parenting is not for the faint-hearted. How do we deal with everyday and life-changing moments of raising children? We will consider ‘best practices’ alongside Jewish values and wisdom about parenting in order to reflect upon our own parenting joys and challenges. Allan Cordova, clinical psychologist, will facilitate. Parents need to attend both sessions. Please register by November 10th. Maximum number of participants: 12.
Saturdays, 3:15 – 4:45

Cooking Up Community
Cook together in the Havurah kitchen with other parents. Make enough food to take some home to your family, and also leave some in the freezer for our LotsaHelpingHands network, which enables us to provide meals to families during challenging times. Please let Deborah know that you want to participate, and for which dates.

Rabbi Weinberg is a founder of the Institute for Jewish Spirituality, as well as a poet, educator and nationally recognized pioneer in contemplative practice. She has published widely on feminism, Judaism, spirituality and single parenting, and has contributed commentaries to Kol HaNeshama, the new Reconstructionist Prayerbook.

CREATING A CULTURE OF CHESED (KINDNESS)
Every school/community has its own culture that reflects and creates values, interpersonal styles, behavioral norms, shared language. Our Havurah/Shabbat School culture has emerged over time organically (sometimes randomly and sometimes intentionally). It is time to assess the current culture of this community, envision where we hope to be, and plan intentional and deliberate steps toward desired changes. These sessions provide a forum for parent guidance of that process.
