Welcome to Havurah Shalom!
Havurah Shalom is a vibrant, diverse, participatory Jewish community steeped in spirituality, learning, and acts of social responsibility. We welcome people of all ages, identities, abilities, and backgrounds. As a part of the Reconstructing Judaism movement, we envision a just and compassionate world where creative Jewish living and learning guide us toward lives of holiness, meaning, and purpose. Our members work together to promote Jewish spirituality, learning, and social action. We invite you to join us for Shabbat services, holiday celebrations, and educational opportunities.

HAVURAH SHALOM SUPPORTS A MULTILATERAL CEASEFIRE
We hope for a shared future for Israelis and Palestinians, which requires the commitment of all parties to good-faith negotiations with the goal of a just and lasting peace. We believe that the essential first step toward this vision is an immediate and permanent ceasefire.
On February 13, 2024, the Steering Committee approved a statement that advocates for actions that embody the Jewish value of B’tzelem Elohim (the sacredness of all human life) and that calls for a multilateral ceasefire as the only path forward toward a just and lasting peace in Israel/Palestine.
Please read the full text of the statement here.
Havurah Shalom is an LGBT Safe Zone and a member of the Community of Welcoming Congregations. We also support racial justice by recognizing systemic racism and promoting values, conversations, groups, and efforts that fight it directly.

We are excited to bring mahjong back to Havurah. It is a fun, social activity that builds community, encouraging new friendships and cementing old ones. And while some of us may play elsewhere as well, we all agreed that restoring its place as an ongoing congregational activity will be a good fit for Havurah and those of us who play or want to learn the game. So please don't hesitate to join us! -
